Latinos have been making their mark on film for decades, but it was only eight years ago that the New York International Latino Film Festival made its debut.This summer, the roster is hotter than ever, with Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony headlining the festival in “El Cantante“- the story of Puerto Rican salsa legend Hector Lavoe. Lavoe crooned his way to fame in the 1970s, but picked up a dangerous drug habit along the way that threatened his career, marriage and life.
